Welcome to Blue Tit Academy's full day Subculture cutting course! Join us at Cut and Sew, 31/32 Wellington Quay, Temple Bar, Dublin, D02 RX80, Ireland on the 8th March 2026 10:00am - 17:00pm
What to expect
Tom Warr – Blue Tit Academy Director & Creative Director for Oway will lead the course. The day will start with a brief history of British subcultures from three decades - 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
Tom will talk about why and how different influences from these decades have inspired him as a Stylist and Creative Director in London. After this introduction,
Tom will then take you through step-by-step cutting and styling techniques inspired by his favourite subcultures - 60’s skinhead, 70’s punk and 80’s blitz kids on a live model.
Capturing content is a huge part of toms work and something he’s very passionate about. After the demonstration Tom will take you through all his tips and experience, showing you how he shoots his looks on the model.
In the afternoon you will get a chance to work on a live model inspired by what you have just seen in the morning. Tom will be there to guide you through the consultation, cutting, styling and capturing your content.
